About us:
History
Amanda is half Catalan but was born in Dover and raised in the West Midlands. Wanting to follow a career in art, she successfully trained at Rugby School of Art and went on to establish herself in the world of art, design and publication. Her first series of paintings, depicting historical Coventry, recieved critical acclaim and was put into print. It was shortly followed by scenes from the beautiful towns of Kenilworth, Royal Leamington Spa, Stratford upon Avon and Warwick.
In 1995 Amanda moved to Surrey where although she continued to paint, she concentrated on interior design and retail. Here she helped establish a number of art galleries and interior shops over the next ten years.
Then after a brief time living in Kent where she painted local scenes of Canterbury and invented a design process, she moved to Benifallet where she now concentrates on painting the stunningly picturesque views and colourful village life which abound in Catalonia. Her paintings can be seen in The Galeria de Benifallet and in many exhibitions in the village and in local towns.
Amanda is also the ´Creator and Project Co-ordinator´ of
´The Benifallet Community Project´.
This is an exciting project to inspire participation in the community of Benifallet with a view to encourage tourism, making ´A day out in Benifallet´ a reality. We may be going through a worldwide crisis but making an interesting environment with donated and reclaimed materials and without the money that we generally believe is necessary IS ACHIEVABLE.
To find out more about what the project consists of and how you can participate see the COMMUNITY PROJECT page.
